just bought a new B7610, hydro,3 cyl. i love the tractor but there is a good bit of vibration in the engine from around 1500rpms down to idle. does anyone know if this is normal with the 3cyl. eng? i owned a L2850 with the 4cyl. eng. and it was smooth at any speed. this is the first 3cyl i've owned.

Kubota 4 cylinder engines are about the smoothest I have seen and they will spoil you.

My BX would rattle the hood until it got cranked up to 2/3rds throttle or so and every BX I tried did the same.

Yanmar (Deere) three cylinder engines are smoother than Kubota 3's but not a nice as Kubota 4's.

The BX series 2 and 3 cylinder engines have a big cast iron counterweight stratigically placed on top of the engine to help balance it and reduce vibration. Those engines are designed to run at higher RPMS and are quite smooth above 1/2 throttle. They will definitely rattle your brains out from idle to about 1/4 throttle though. ....

I have a 3 cylinder Cub-Cadet model 7275 (27HP). My dealer's service tech told me that I should idle at 1500 rpm and nothing below. So when you say from 1500 rpm down to an idle, how low do you set your idle? ....

Only the BX1500 runs the weight on the engine to cut the vibrations at an idle. The three cylinder as far as rolling mass is supposed to be the best but Kubota's fours are really smooth. There is differences from one make to the other and one size of engine to the other. With break-in it should smooth out more then it is when new. ....
